Unpaid pathology account

I went for blood test in September 2013 already. Ampath submitted the account to Essential med on 3.09.2013 which up to date has not been paid yet. I have sent several emails requesting that this account be settled as soon as possible but it still has not been done. I cancelled my policy with the company as i had to pay most of my bill out of my own pocket. I would rather get myself a better insurance company or medical aid who would adhere to my needs and render a service which i am paying for. The service rendered by Essential med is totally pathetic. Ampath has threatened to take action against me for Essential meds negligence. They never forgot to debit my account for their monthly premiums, but when it came to rendering a service they were reluctant. I've had problems in the past where they take very long to pay the doctors and medical things, I would have to send emails almost every day and wouldn't even get replies sometimes.
