Poor claims handling

After submitting a claim on the 24th December 2013, nobody has contacted me since, after several phone calls, i'm told the claims department, is awaiting assessment, the assessor can not be reached... does not return calls emails nothing, I sincerely hope my claim will be finalised soon or when the assessor deems fit in the interim I will continue using public transport! WHY DO I HAVE INSURANCE?
