On the 20 September 2012, my sister changed the beneficiery on 1 of her funeral plans. I recieved docs stating I was the new beneficiery of the policy. My sister was diagnosed with cancer. She past away in the interum and I applied for the policy to pay out. I phoned Hollard and told them my story and I gave them the policy number that I had on the documents that I recieved. They told me that they would email me a link to download the Claims application and discharge form. So they did, I filled in and emailed back with the assistance of my son. I phoned to confirm that they recieved the documents and when the payout will happen. They said they recieved docs and within 48 hours. 2 days past and NO pay out. So I phoned again and I was told that I was not the beneficiery of the policy and they cannot disclose any information. I made 18 calls and the story changed everytime. Turns out they paid the money to my sisters ex boyfirend who was the pre beneficiery. I was also told by Samuel (the claims team leader) he thinks I am trying to pull a fast 1. I have never been so insulted in my life. When I asked to hear the recordings and SAMUEL refused me and told me to go to the ambudsman.
