Rejected Claim

I write this report with the outmost frustration. My mother recently submitted a claim for a Samsung S4 that was from her car recently.

My younger brother was the owner of the cellphone and was in use of the vehicle at the time. On his way home he stopped to fill up petrol with his friend as a passenger, there were issues with his card when he tried to pay electronically and had to leave the car to withdraw money and left his friend in the car, so to his knowledge the car was not left unattended. Upon the realisation that his friend had also left the car he rushed to check that it was locked and his cellphone was.

The claim was rejected based on fact the that there were no visible signs of forced entry on the vehicle, which is a general exclusion with most insurance companies fair enough. What I find so frustrateing and actually quite sad is that the unique circumstances weren't given consideration in the rejection of this claim.

My mother has been a client of the Telesure group for a number of years. One would think that this would count for something (let alone the events of that fateful night).

What an appalling way to treat a customer.
