I laid a complaint to the branch manager at Nedbank Atlantis more than a year ago regarding the account which was opened by the sales consultant. I called at the branch in February 2012 and my instruction was that I want the MOST basic savings account opened. I DO NOT want a current account as I had a temporary job lined up and was not sure what my income would be. In November 2012, I was informed by Nedbank in St George's Mall when I called for a replacment card that I had a current account. I complained to the branch manager in Atlantis who shoved me off onto the sales consultant whom replied via e-mail and I quote "So essentially you have savings account for all practical reasons." I received a letter regarding conduct on my current account in December this year. I feel Nedbank needs to look into this matter. According to me there are laws and acts which do not deem opening accounts which clients have not applied for as acceptable. I do not wish to have contact with the branch as clearly the person (s) in charge do not have time for this petty contravention of my rights.
