Left to the last minute?

Tomorrow is a week ago that I telephonically applied for an ABSA personal loan after having received a personalised letter in the mail inviting me to do so. I completee the process, emailed my payslip and was told that I would receive a phone call in 2 to 3 days time from an Assessor. Now when someone says 2 to 3 you hardly think it will be left to the last minute and you will get a call on day 3! So half way on day 2 I phoned in to enquire: and to my surprise at 2pm, the middle of the day, I am told no all those people have gone home -? Like? Just no! People like myself who have applied for a loan upon your invite only do so if they need it for a reason! I can appreciate you have festivities but with respect we are not all christian and to abandon ship before 2pm - well then you would be half a day behind when you do eventually return and how fair is that on us waiting for your call? I am extremely taken back by this and yes, I hope that I do receive that long awaited call tomorrow since it is then a week since I applied
