I accepted a cold call to subscribe to a chips, dents & scratches repair service through The Unlimited. The promise was for professional repair based on the vehicles VIN number to accurately match the car's paint colour. When the "technicians" came they washed my car, then simply mixed grey paint at the side of their vehicle and proceeded to dab at the damaged bits with a small touch-up brush -- with no more professional expertise than if I had bought touch up pain at my car dealership and done it myself. The VIN number clearly was utterly irrelevant! In all, I've paid R480 in 'administration fees and premiums' for a basic car wash!
A promise from customer service to return my call after I cancelled the policy, also appears to be a lie.
What a shame on such dishonest advertising and totally unscrupulous service... even for a pensioner!
