13 days NO REPLY on insurance claim

Roof damaged during the hail storm on 28 Nov. A claim was logged by me to Standard Bank Home Owners Insurance on 29 November. After a week I tried to follow up but consistently heard a message of High Call Volumes - sometimes waiting for 30 minutes and longer to be answered.

Yesterday 11 Dec, I got through to the call centre, after a 25 minute wait (at my expense of course) and was advised that a Manager would return my call - still waiting for this to happen.

Today, 13 days later I phoned them again to find out what is happening and was advised that Standard Bank Home Owners Insurance are unable to appoint a Contractor and that I need to obtain quotes for the repair.

The problem is that the roof has been leaking for more than a week now and the buck is being passed to me - even though I'm paying an excess/admin fee

This is also now the THIRD time that this is happening with Standard bank Home Owners Insurance Claims. Not one of my previous two claims was completed by them. I payed excess and the job was just never completed. The Call Centre Lines are just never answered and you can never speak to a consultant. Nothing is followed up and there is just NO SERVICE!!
