I paid ABSA R50 000 on 30 Nov to settle my personal loan and vehicle finance. I have called them numerous times and even went Brooklyn branch to get the paid up letter. They keep telling me that there is a credit of 10k due and I must call back in 3-5 days. Half a month has passed and I still get the same excuse while they get the interest on the money owing to me. This also affects my credit rating as I was under debt review and cannot come off until they provide these letters. The last excuse is that I am not under debt review since 5 Dec. 3 previous calls since 5 Dec never informed me of this. Now they want me to go back to a branch to process my request. I have already been to the Brooklyn branch on 30 Nov and Mr Anton Munro apparently sent my request through but when I call in there is no track of this on 3 occasions so far. have emailed the branch thrice and still no response. ABSA is withholding my money and giving me the runaround and by doing so unscrupulously gaining the interest on R10k for themselves. This is a great disservice and tantamount to consumer in my opinion. I am busy completing the form to report them to NCR
