When will it stop

We took out a home loan with standard bank, my wife being the main applicant. Due to our structure at home the debit for the homeloan comes out of my account (FNB) while she pays for the other expenses. I called in to query of our account was an access account. I was told that it was not and if i wanted to change it i would have to move my acount over to standard bank. i then told the consultant that my wife banks with standard, he then tells me that we have to move the debit order to her account. i then asked if there would be any additional charges should we want to change it to an access account. he said no because it is included in the monthly premium that i am already paying. why am i paying for a service that i cannot use, what difference does it make on who pays the account, in regards to a products that is part of a homeloan account
