Increases for 2014 22% but worst than that excesses increased to R8520 and R9620 for two cars. We have been clients of Auto and General for more than 35 years and always paid our premiums on time. Furthermore we have a good track record with them. My husbands vehicle is one year old and my car is 7 years old in excellent condition. Have changed Insurance Company from 1 Jan 2014 (not one of their subsidiary companies) and phoned to give them notice as at 31 Dec 2013, requested confirmation and this is the reply that I got from them -
"Your policy has been reviewed recently and we regret your risk profile does not allow for further cover. Your policy will thus be cancelled at midnight 31 Dec 2013"
The wording of their letter implies that they have given ME notice when in fact I have advised them that I am cancelling as at 31 Dec 2013. I have therefore sent them a letter insisting that they confirm MY instructions to cancel both vehicles, and that I strongly object to their letter and demanding an apology for this disgusting letter. After so many years as a loyal client I am happy to bid them FAREWELL as at the 31 Dec 2013. Lets see if I get any reply!!!
