In September (18/09/13) I responded to a radio advert and sent an sms for a call back. I received a call back a short while later and went through the process of getting a quote. After about 30min of my time the advisor told me he would call me back after chatting to his supervisor as the quoted amount was not better than my current policy. He did call back, but apologised that they were not able to "beat" my current policy with my current insurer without increasing my excess from 0. I was rather disappointed but glad they I had taken the step to find out my options. I asked about the ad I had heard on the radio: If Outsurance can't beat your current premiums then they would pay R400. He mentioned they he would sent me a link to upload my policy cert and then I would receive payment. I never received a link - when I tried to call back, no one was able to assist me. I sms'ed the number again and again but I had no call back. I wonder if the R400 advert that you hear on the radio is a just to coax potential customers to call but they don't end up paying out in the end. This also begs the question as to whether it would be this difficult to get them to pay out if I was a customer.
