I saw an advert on etv from outsurance. It states "If we can't beat your insurance premiums, we will pay you R400". Since I was on the lookout for insurance, I thought I had nothing to lose so I sent the sms for a quote. A gentleman called me tonight to give me a quote. Not only could he not beat the quote, it was more than double what my current insurer has offered me. When I enquir about the R400, he puts me on hold, comes back and tells me that unfortunately they cannot pay me as I must be insured more than 3 months with my current insurer. Not once in the advert did they state that t's and c's apply. This is false advertising and the ombudsman needs to do something about it.
