Insurer does not want to pay

My electrical Distribution Board was damaged during a storm and needed repair/replacement.
The incident happened on Saturday at 01h30 in the morning, when a severe lighting storm burnt the DB. I contacted Santam call centre who advised that they don't have electricians to send to effect the repair. After trying to call several regular repairers, I called the largest Y/Pages advert. Two electricians worked on the pannel for 6 hours on Saturday afternoon to restore power to my place. The repair came to R38, 640.00. For Santam to came after the fact and claim that I was charged too much but not having proposed an alternative when I was in need is close to cheating. Santam didn't tell me either verbally or in any documentation that I cannot call a technician after hours or that they will refuse to cover any such claims. Work at night or on weekends - Saturday afternoon - are charged at a premium. Technicians are not always available. I called other 5 electricians who were not available or unengaged. Did Santam want me to wait several days in darkness to see if they could find a cheaper contractor? Santam is good in their adverts, but not when the claim comes and they need to pay back!!
