I had an accident with a motorist insured by Santam. My own insurer did not settle the claim, and I was notified by attorneys from Santam that I owe the money and got threatened by them in all kinds of ways. I made an agreement with them and paid some money. I then got ill and had to be hospitalized for an extended period and lost my job. Santam contacted me this year and requested that I make a payment agreement with them. I did and signed the agreement and it was accepted. The lawyers again contacted me and I explained that I have a binding agreement with Santam that I am paying back monthly. I called Santam and explained and they said they will sort it with lawyers. I am now however getting very threatening calls from the lawyers and Santam refuses to talk to me. Firstly, I have a signed/accepted agreement with Santam to settle this and Santam did a debit order against my account to that effect. Secondly, I cannot believe that a company of Sanlam/Santam's stature will source work to lawyers who threaten and intimidate in a very very ugly way. It is not how people are supposed to be treated and it's DEFINITELY not according to the image Sanlam Santam project in the media
