I had an account that was on Garnishee since March 2011 although Bayport also deduct money out of my Bank account. I decided to clear my Credit Record with my eye on this CREDIT Amnesty of the DTI and the Government.
I ordered a company who specialising in Debt Conslidation with my house as collateral. The person who handles the account payments for me, asked for quotes to settle the accounts. All the Creditors gave settlement amounts that I did not disputed. Theref was also one account of Bayport Financial Services where I did not Disputed the settlement amount but I disputed the settlement amount for the account on Garnishee.
A settlement amount of R20969.54 was given although the payment schedule that was with the garnishee showed an outstanding balance of R7569.21 on 30/09/2013. This was an overpayment of R13400.33 of which an amount of R2042.13 was refunded on 28/10/2013. I am still waiting for the outstanding amount of R11358.20 to be refunded. I lodged a compalint with the CREDIT OMBUD but I will ask all other consumers to start to exercise our RIGHTS and to fight so that scrupulous companies such as Bayport be BLACKLISTED by the Department of Trade and Industry.
