Standard Bank Home Insurance declined my claim again, In the past Five years i own the property in Amanzimtoti we had severe storms almost every year. Firstly my retainer wall partially washed down the embankment which i had to repair at a cost of R85000.00 This only a year after purchasing the property!! Standard Bank approved the bond. The claim was declined due to no Engineers certificate to an existing wall when i bought the property.
Surely the Standard Bank should have requested this before approving the bond and before insuring the property. Second incident flooding in the bathroom due to a burst pipe, declined. Third incident storm broke the Glass patio door window, Approved R 2000.00, Forth incident Storm damage lounge area, Declined, Currently Storm Damage Bedroom area, decline. Hopeless it seems as soon as a claim reach certain amount it's declined.
