Get charged for facilities not available

January 2012 (almost 2 years ago) I applied for a personal loan, overdraft and credit card that I was preapproved for but there was some issue with my salary slip so I decided to take up the FNB personal loan that was at much better terms.

2 months later a debit order came off my account for the repayment of the personal loan but I never received the funds. I contacted standard bank that then stopped the debit order but did nothing else as they said I need to speak to the Eastgate branch or go to another branch and call them from there.

I went to the Centurion Lifestyle branch and they showed me away and said they cant help me as I did not open the account there. I asked them to phone which they eventually did and still got nowhere.

Now almost 2 years later get a statement for my overdraft and I get a call to say my credit card is in arrears. Surely there must be some type of control on this, how can I be held liable for an account I never physically opened and only applied for...
