How can we help you - what a laugh

All I wanted today is a bank statement for a visa application. I have my ID (in my maiden name) and a copy of my marriage certificate. I have all other documents / bank cards / etc. that can proof that I am who I am. They can do a security check similar to what they do over the phone when you phone in but assistance were refused because of the copy and not having the original document. I understand rules and regulations and the importance of it BUT the manner how the situation was handled is more disappointing. A lady took me into a small office when I go upset. She just kept on telling me what she cannot do and interrupting me when I talk. No attempt of alternative assistance were offered to me the supposedly valued customer which does not leave a lot to the "how can we help you" logo? When I reached the point where I told her that I would like to close my accounts she merely told me what the procedure is to do so and clearly mentioned that I will have to settle any outstanding balances before closing my accounts!! I find this shocking... how can we help you - really?? I am frustrated and VERY disappointed yet again in a bank that says: How can we help you!!
