I would like to complain about the telephonic discussion I just had with a lady in the Home Loans Arrear Call Centre. I have had the decency to call into the Call Centre a few times to discuss my predicament - that my husband has passed away and I am trying to sort out all the affairs. Although I am completely aware that I am behind in my payments and that people in the Call Centre have a job to do to collect the money but what I will not accept is a total disregard and lack of sensitivity for the caller. I have always remained polite throughout all of the calls. Today, I called into the Call Centre to advise when I would be making my next payment and how much. The lady told me that my payment amount was completely unacceptable and that the necessary steps would be taken. As I mention before, I am not disputing that I owe money or the procedures that ABSA has to follow and it is not about what the person has to say but how it is said. She was downright rude, unfriendly and obnoxious. This lady does not do ABSA proud at all and it definitely puts a sour taste in my mouth about ABSA.
