I ordered an item from Groupon. Never delivered. I requested my money back and they took a further R199 from my account instead of refunding. After 3 months Groupon repaid R199 and said FNB had drawn the other R199.
I contacted FNB and received an e-mail on FNB letterhead saying they (FNB) had drawn the R199 "in error". On 9th January 2013 I demanded my Money back which they acknowledge they drew on the 5th December. Some 20 pages of correspondence and some 55 days later I have managed to get R199 refunded. Firstly they acknowledged that they had taken the R199, then 10 days later denied it. My persistence has resulted in the refund on the 29th January 2013. No Interest or compensation. Am I the only person this has happened to. No!!! Groupon advised that there were 2 similar cases the week before they referred mine to FNB.. Who worries about a small amount of money!
