Advertised price not charged

I bought a coat about 3 weeks ago which was on special - there were two prices one was R399.99 and the other was R199.99, thinking that I would be charged R199.99 - so when I get to the till, I asked the lady how come she is not charing me R199.99 - she had no answer and said that the price is as per the system and refused to give it at R199.99
Anyway, what was the process supposed to be?
Was I not supposed to pay the lower price which was R199.99?
The coat was purchased on a gift card, donot have the POP
