I booked a flight on UCount travel. The flight was quoted at R4500 for 2 people. When I paid, a charge came up saying R298 validation charge. I thought it was strange, but thought it was a verification charge, which would be reversed. Then the full charge came through. When I looked at the final invoice, I realised that the R298 was a charge from Ucount called Traveller Support Fee. When I went through the order process again, I noticed that this charge was slipped in just before you make the payment. And to make matters worse, I could have booked the flight at Mango for R2 cheaper, before the so called support fee.
When I phoned (about 2 minutes after making the booking) to cancel the entire sale, I was told that Mango has a 100% cancellation fee. This is really disgusting business practice. This was the first and last time that I will ever use Ucount Travel.
