Good Day
So Ive been with Bank XYZ for 4 years. My husband switched banks and thought I would do the same. I decided FNB will be it as Ive heard only good things and the website makes it easy. So I called 0860 32 7827 for more info and the lady on the other end said she can do it for me. After being on the phone for 10 mins she tells me she can only offer me a savings account as not a cheque account. I asked why her answer was because I had a savings with FNB 9 years ago and I would need to go to a branch to apply for a cheq account. This doesnt make sense. I dont have time to go to the branch. I work 8-5 every week and Im not one to do banking over a weekend. Could someone please assist me in the matter and give me a more detailed explanation as to why it cannot be done online or telephonically.
