I applied for a personal loan via your website and then I was told I needed to apply via the call centre. This I did and I was approved and told how much I qualified for. I then went to the branch at Northgate to complete the rest of the application process and supply the necessary documents. Went through the entire process of signing everything as well as having to go to my bank to get my statements stamped only to be told a couple of hours later that my loan application was now declined because I am on a fixed term contract!
First of all - it was never mentioned that you had to be permanently employed. All that was asked for was a payslip which I provided. The agreement mentions confirmation of employment which according to me would not have been an issue as I am employed. I am on a fixed term contract which is renewed annually during the annual salary increase time.
Secondly - I cannot understand how being permanently employed is seen as better as now days there are no guarantees if you are permanently employed as anyone can be retrenched, be dismissed or resign.
Lastly - I have had 2 personal loans with African Bank - this does not seem to count for anything!!
