Standard Bank
Pensioner robbed at ATM

On the 30th July 2013 at 18:40 I went to an ATM at Greenstone Mall to make a withdrawal. While using the ATM, a gentleman approached me and asked if he could help me. I said to him: "No" I am fine. Before I could turn he pushed me to the floor, and by the time I got up I realized my card was taken by this gentleman. I then immediately used my stop card, that was issued to me by Standard Bank to use in situations like this. I received a confirmation that my card was stopped by the ATM.
On the 31stst July I called the Line and spoke to Lebo who advised me that R 4, 000.00 was already withdrawn from my account. I was then advised by her that I would be paid the R 4, 000.00 within 10 working days. After 10 working days I contacted the Line twice as no money was put into my account. I then called again and was advised that I would be paid within 48 hours. A few days later I received a letter from Standard Bank that my claim was refuted by Yasmin Bhoola. I am writing this complaint on behalf of my Godfather who is a pensioner. I find this query being dealt by Standard Bank is unacceptable towards the elderly.
