My intention is to warn all fellow South Africans, be very wary of unscrupulous insurance "schemes", most noticeably that which is advertised by the Prime Meridian Group or Prime Meridian Direct. One example of what the PM group offer is short term motor insurance, covering the insured ONLY in an accident where their vehicle is damaged so badly that the cost of repairing it has to exceed 85% of its fair market value.
Think about this.
Carefully.
In order for a car to be damaged to this extent, not only would it need to be considered a write off, the damage must surely be so severe that it would be nothing short of a miracle that any passenger there in would still be left alive after the accident!
In an effort to repudiate claims, Prime Meridian will strive to ensure that the cost of damages seldom reaches the 85% thresh-hold. Claims are rendered useless and PM are left off the hook with no obligation to pay their clients. Don't be fooled. PM have no interest in YOU, the insured. Their primary focus is to repudiate claims. If questioned, Manie Vermaak, (PM's head technocrat in claims), will be quick to pass the buck to their legal dept. As if that's of any help.
