ABSA Home Loans had a system failure on their debit orders in Sep-2013. The DO is supposed to go through on the 5th, but did not. I called the call centre twice, but they were unable to resolve it. Then a manual transfer by an ABSA teller without notice or authorization was made from my account for a portion of the monthly installment. I then made a transfer for the shortfall and notified my private banker. The private banker confirmed all was in order. I also contacted ABSA home loans directly to confirm the account was up to date. Subsequently, they put through a debit order for the full amount on the 20th. This means that I have been effectively double debited for Sep-2013. Further, the debit order date is the 5th not the 20th. I tried calling Private Bank but they did not answer the phone after being on hold for 10 minutes. I then emailed them and have not yet had a response.
