Slow and Incompetent Service

Our claim with Absa was registered November 2012 for storm damage to our boundary wall. To date the claim has not been finalised after numerous calls and e mails to Absa. It had taken Absa almost 7 months to advise us they need an Engineer's report for the wall in order to SETTLE the claim. This has been sent to them but they are still not satisfied with the report from the Municipality. Today we have been informed by Elize Smith that they will be sending their own Engineers to do a report on the wall so I ask why they did not send this engineer when the bond they approved was done??? Why after been initially satisfied with the sale and the building do they now believe the Municipality Engineer's report is not good enough??? It will be almost a year and the claim is not finalised!!! Does Absa staff know what they are doing??? Surely it does not take 10 months to finalise a storm claim. I wonder how long it will take to finalise a claim should the entire building be destroyed??? My patience has now worn out and have no option but to contact the Ombudsman!!!
