So i had a credit card with African bank back in 2005. I then got realised from work due to medical reasons. I went and reported my case to them then. I recently have contacted them wanting to settle the credit card. The last time i paid the accout i was owing R1070, now it turns out i am owing R11 870 - due to interest, sms costs, insurance costs that they have been charging me every month. I contacted Eve, asking her to explain where the costs are coming from, all she did was offer me settlement of R5000 of which is still high! i understand there is interest but why am i paying insurance? sms fees? i never even received 1 sms from them! After asking Eve to help me, she forwarded my queries to Linky who has now forwarded the query to back office. Yes i owe them but are they really gonna charge me 110%? i have written my query to Ombudman and NCR, there's gotta be regulations out there set against such companies. i am so sick and tired of companies that are ripping off people, that is why i am taking this as far as i can.
