My month end salary was withdrawn at some branch in port elizabeth and I didn't get any notification. I went to the ABSA king william's town branch at around 09h00 and was told that the money had been withdrawn at some ATM in port elizabeth which is about 200kms away at 08h53. The amount withdrawn is way over my daily limit which is shocking because this is a personal bank account & to increase or decrease my daily limit I have to sign for it. I had my card with me at the time of the crime & when I went to make the inquiry at ABSA branch but they told me there's nothing they can do, I cannot get the reversal. I feel robbed by the bank I trusted for years & been a loyal customer to. Now they cannot take the responsibility of the that occurred within their perimeters, meaning my money at ABSA is not secured. I feel disgusted by ABSA and want to warn the public against this bad service. My monthly debit orders are returned and this means more charges and I thought I could trust ABSA with my salary. I need to warn everyone out there about ABSA bank and their false promises & unreliable service & staff that is ill informed. I'm going to contact the banking ombudsman.
