Given that I was looking to move to another insurer, and the almost aggressive promotional drive of Outsurance, and guaranteeing (with T&Cs) a payment of R400 if they can't beat one's current insurance policy offerings, I thought I would get a quote from Outsurance. What a dismal waste of 15 minutes. The consultant I dealt with made it sound as if it were a chore to do his job, and was quite unprofessional in his responses to when I was relating my claim's history. Finally, he confirmed, just on the car cover alone, I would be paying much more than I was currently with a new policy covering car, home, and portable possessions from Auto and General. His comment was, "I don't know how you're getting SUCH low premiums", as if to imply I was either lying to him or Auto & General. Finally, I asked about the R400 promotion, and he said, 'Well, you probably won't qualify for that! " On asking him what the criteria is to qualify, he could not even tell me! He then said he would speak to his manager, and e-mail me a link yesterday. Does one "ALWAYS" get something out from Outsurance? - if by wasting my time, and a lie- then yes, I got loads out.
