First National Bank
Advertising tells a different story

I am in business with my wife and we run a small design agency. She had had the company for 12 years and has always banked with Standard Bank. I, however, have been with FNB for most of my adult life. I have had - as banking institutions go - good service. I have for the best part of the last year tried to convince her to switch our business banking over to FNB for various 'ease of use' reasons. Finally I get her to call the advertised number and she is told they will have the nearest business branch contact us. They don't. So I convince her again to contact the Gardens branch directly where she speaks to the business manage to make an appointment to go through the costs/benefits and potential issues (beneficiary conversion etc) and he says that she cant make an appointment unless she's actually going to switch, she must rather just come in and wait in line. Is that really the right attitude when a potential client is wanting to move all their business and investments to FNB? Now I look like a chop having told her that FNB's service is way better than Standard Bank. I'll be interested to see how this is dealt with.
