I received a US$ amount into my account on Friday 6 September 2013. I called the Forex division and asked them to process the incoming payment, with the R/$ at approximately R10.20 on the day. A voicemail message told me they were experiencing high call volumes, and I could email my instructions to [Email Removed] which I did.
By today, nothing has been done, and the exchange rate has worsened (rand has strenghened against dollar). I have emailed again and tried calling, but to no avail. This is not the first time money has not been exchanged on a day when the rate is favourable to me after explicit instruction to exchange the funds, and I only manage to get it done a couple of days later, when the rate has changed, making me lose out. Funny that.
I expect exactly the same to happen in this case.
This is poor service. I expect my money to be exchanged at Friday's favourable rate.
