On the 27th August I cancelled my policy with MiWay and spoke to Emmanuel to whom I explained to that I was using another service provider. As a subscriber to Transunion I received a notification from Transunionlater that evening that an enquiry was made on my profile and discovered that it was an enquiry from MiWay. On the 28th Aug I called MiWay and spoke to Seipati and she could not tell me why a search was done since I was not applying for a policy nor amending it and that I did not give MiWay permission to do a reference check for whatever reason. She informed me that she will send and e-mail to Emmanuel to revert to me. Today (5th September) I called MiWay and after speaking to a call centre agent was put on hold for 5 min. My second attempt was also not successful. MiWay's conduct borders on invasion of privacy and I want that enquiry removed from my profile as it appears as "insurance application" and unnecessarily adds on the number of enquiries made on my name.
