In order to maximise the amount of FNB rewards points I am earning, I opened an FNB savings pocket online on the 20 July 2013 and transferred R2000 into the account.

I then contacted the call centre (I am unsure which number I used as there are innumerable options on the website / facebook page) and spoke to an agent and requested 1) Bank your change to be activated and rounded up to the nearest R5 and 2) For emergency roadside assistance to be activated.

When I checked the accounts today, it was quite clear that "Bank your change" hadn't been activated. This was confirmed when I contacted the call center this afternoon. In addition they informed me that Roadside Assistance also hadn't been activated on my account.

So basically, the person I spoke to on Saturday 20 July was utterly incompetent and didn't do either of the 2 things they said they would. I hope FNB still has a recording of that call and the staff member is brought to task.

I have thus lost out on vital FNB rewards points for this month. Luckily I wasn't in need of any emergency roadside assistance as the service was inactive.
