Interesting headline article today. SAD is that all credit providers see everyone as just a number... personal, individual circumstances is not being taken into consideration... so people who are genuinely honest but had a bit of bad luck... that happened due to circumstances beyond their control gets "scored" like everyone else, including people who make a habit of not wanting to pay their accounts. Being treated as a NUMBER is not acceptable anymore - assess individuals on their specific situation!!!
The news that a credit amnesty organised by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the National Credit Regulator (NCR) is likely to become effective before the end of this year has undoubtedly delighted many consumers. The amnesty, which still has to be approved by Cabinet, would involve the once-off complete removal of all adverse credit information listings by SA's credit bureaus - irrespective of non-payment - and the on-going removal of all paid-up adverse listings and paid-up judgments.
