Fleet Street Publications
Unethical, borderline illegal business practice!

I was subscribed to the accountancy loose leaf. A few days ago I get an email stating that I am to be handed over to a debt collecting agency for invoices not paid for updates not received, updates not ordered because I was misled by bogus marketing and customer service welcoming letters, nowhere indicating that I should pay for updates which even according to their website does not indicate a cost involved. Oh yes, you can download the updates from the member site, just need to find the links first. I proceeded to phone them looking for answers. Palloeka lot they are, "needs to verify if I received the updates". OVER THE PHONE!? Two of the updates (or in this case additions) according to the agent, are budgeting and activity based costing. Seriously? Not even present in the original binder and sure as not new concepts. Good job on copying pastels old business model, selling people modules. One question..on the panel of "experts"..who is the ex? 8 "updates" at R150 a pop= R1200. It's cheaper to by the binder every two years. Thats if they remember to include the sections which should obviously be there in the first place. Updates my! FSP are skellum!
