3 Month payment reversal then from elderly

For the last 3 months we have been trying to get FNB to reverse an accidental payment. Each time they promise after 5 working days it'll be paid. Each time we wait and nothing! No payment is ever received. For 3 months this has been going on. We've been into branches, we've phoned and now we're dealing with Premier Banking.

Today after us having to request an update after 7 days we are told that the money was used to pay a debt from 2004! From 2004?? Really? A loan that never appeared on Online banking or anywhere else? An account that we haven't heard about for 9 years!!!

My dad has been suffering with memory problems since my step mom passed away in March and I get the distinct impression that FNB is taking advantage of his condition to cover up for there incompetence!

We have been through so many channels and each one is a dead end. The branches referred us to Online banking who then referred us to Loans, who then referred us to Premier banking. Not one of them have been able to sort it out and now after 3 months they decide to tell us that they wont reverse the payment because of some arbitrary account from 2004! incompetant! theives!!!
