New debit card with chip rubbish

I recently got a new debit card wit a chip because the old card's strip was worn. So I have used it three times only once to draw money, pay for groceries and so far the card is a poor performer. 1) Takes much longer for EFT transactions to clear, they are not instantaneous as with the old debit card.

Now I drew money from an FNB machine as I always do because it's the only one available, the transaction times out I cancel it to get my card back and no money is issued. Then I see on my account the money has been withdrawn. So I contact ABSA customer services and now I am told I have to go to a branch to report the incident so that they can open a case before I get the money back. WHAT A RUBBISH NEW CARD!!! So now I must waste my time because your system is a joke!!!

The whole point of a debit card is real time transactions not wait 3 to 4 days for the transaction to settle. If I wanted that rubbish I would use my credit card!!!
