Personal bank account hacked

After canceling my debit order for my credit card account late last year and opting to pay my installments in cash I was utterly shocked to get a SMS notification today saying African bank just deducted an amount from my personal banking account (an account I never made known to them). How in heavens name did they do that??? I then called my bank and asked how this was possible?? They referred me back to African bank. I called the collections department and was told I gave them verbal permission (12 June 2013) saying they may deduct the amount from my bank account. Of which they cannot even prove to me i said that, even though calls are supposedly recorded..Which never ever happened, I remember there was a guy calling me from African bank several times during that period urging me to give my bank account number and permission for debit orders to take place. Bottom line... how far can African Bank go to get there money even from someone that always pays cash upfront on time??? Very very dissapointing!
