Standard Bank
Homeloan issue

My Husband passed away 2 years ago, I have been trying since then to get our homeloan changed to my name without any success. I have been paying the bond since 1997, I have never short paid or missed a payment. I eventually called the deceased estates department and spoke to a very helpful polite and informed lady named Tande. She told me I have to go to any std bank branch and fill in a section 45 for a name change.. Wednesday the 9th I took a days leave and went to the bank in East rand mall where i was told I needed to apply for a new bond... I do not want a new bond all I want to do is pay the existing bond off, if I have to apply for a bond I am going to incur transfer registration etc charges which were already paid when the initial bond was taken out. There is also no guarantee that I will qualify for a bond, cant understand why I must qualify when I qualified on the inital application. I can not wind up my husbands estate until the bond is out of his name. I am at the end of my tether, each person I talk to I get more frustrated by the minute, surely I am not asking the impossible? Nobody can tell me what will happen if I dont get a homeloan, do I get evicted?
