Bank cant do anything about a double payment

I swiped my card to pay for petrol and the payment went off twice instead of once. Nedbank's call centre says they cannot do anything about retail purchases, i have to go to the retailer. Obviously the retailer says my bank needs to sort it out. I need my money back, it is impossible that i should pay twice for a single purchase.
