Claim 2416316 lodged on 16/07. Plumb Guarentee contacted me same day for inspection that evening. I explained that bath is overflowing - water seeping out of exterior wall. They maintained to visit the evening. They inspected the problem using a torch and surmised the trap needs replacement - without opening the bath area to inspect - no access from bathroom or exterior wall to bath trap/pipes. Plumb Guarentee phoned me next morning and said ABSA would not cover a bath trap. I told them it is ABSA's responsibility to contact me regards the claim outcome - the policy states "leaking or overflowing from baths" is covered. ABSA never contacted me. I phoned ABSA on Wed and Thurs - they said someone would call me - no-one did. I called again Friday and they said the plumber's report isn't on the system. Friday afternoon I received an sms of the updated system, but no call from ABSA. On Monday morning (22/07) I telephoned again and Rene Olckers said a bath trap is not covered, but I disputed that it is the bath trap. She said that the plumber would have used a "leaking detection system" - I said they used a torch. She then emailed the plumber at 8.30am and cc'ed me - no response yet.
