I utilise my Absa account as a Savings account for a rainy day. So this account is not frequently utilised. However, whilst shopping in December, I attempted to utilise my bank card, only for it to be declined. I then on close inspection realised that my card had expired on the 10/13. So it had been expired for 3 months! I received no notification from Absa to warn me this was going to happen? I then logged in online, and transferred all my money out of that account to trusty FNB, so I could actually access my own money.
With FNB, I get an SMS to warn me, and then without any input from myself, I am contact to arrange delivery of my new card! Amazing system. So I phone the ABSA call centre, and I am told that the only way to get a new card is to go into a branch... they cannot help me telephonically or online. Absolutely shocking. Come on ABSA... get with it.
