I was pre-approved by Standard Bank for a Home Loan. I found a property I like and my offer was accepted. I submitted my documents to the consultant at my local bank and since then it's been a constant up hill battle. I am constantly calling for an update and the answer is that there is a systems error which seems to be ongoing. Everytime I call, I am told that the matter is being escalated, it should have reached Heaven by now. I get two conflicting stories from both the consultant and the Home Loans Department. My error was not to consult other banks but believe in being loyal to my bank and this could now cost me the property I wish to purchase. Loyalty to a Bank means nothing. Standard Bank's Logo "Moving you Forward" is a joke, I haven't moved an inch since I put my application in. I am very disappointed.
