FNB has this big marketing campaign about switching to FNB and how easy it is and how they personalize your Credit Card interest rate. Well that is all BS.
When I moved from Absa to FNB I was an IC 1 client. When I moved to FNB I was told that my interest rate will only be "personalized" after 6 months. So your previous credit rating means absolutely nothing to them.
I was told by more than one consultant that it will be reviewed automatically, that is also not the case. When I queried why it was not done I was told that I now have to submit my latest payslip.
No one not even the manager could explain to me why I need to give my payslip to have my interest rate reviewed. The New Park branch manager just kept referring me to something even though it is her job to explain this (and she did not) considering that none of the consultants gave me the correct information and also that their advertising is misleading. I submitted this question again to their Credit Card department and have been unable to get a reply since Monday.
So yea be very wary before you switch and trust what their advertisements say.
