Look, this is the first time I am complaining on HALLOPETER but after you read the following you will understand.
As first time home buyers we got a high interest rate. The reason for this high interest rate was that our (my wife and I) combined salaries made our case a higher risk. Meaning that we just made the cut to afford our dream house. At that stage I was busy doing my community service as a pharmacist and knew that my salary would double the following year. I still wasn't happy with the interest rate.
This is how they convinced me: They told me after a year I could apply for reviewed interest rate and giving the fact that we will be less of a credit risk the interest rate will go down. So we signed the contract.
Most recently we applied for the reviewed interest rate. The response we got: A sms!!! Not a phone call!!! Not a discussion in person!!! They declined due to tough economical times.
We got a better interest rate from SA Home Loans and if FNB doesn't respond to this message we will move our home loan and be done with FNB for good. FNB will be loosing a combined income of R900 000 per anum.
Still cant believe a sms!
