I have taken insurance with Discovery in MAY. I then get a call from a manager Rob Francis in June. His argument to me is that because the same items were insured with my wife it makes no difference who the policy holder is and thus are cancelling my policy. This after my wife was embroiled with them on a claim and Discovery retracted and paid out the claim. I have never missed a premium with them but I am being punished. I am sure in any court of law in South Africa they would come to the same conclusion that I am being unfairly treated. They want me to refer to point 5.6, of the Plan Guide. if i was in the wrong, i will accept that.By cancelling my policy they have tagged my ID Number, thus making it impossible for me to get a competitive rate because all other insurance companies pick this up on my ID, as in the case with Outsurance. My premiums for the exact same cover are almost double and they have clearly pointed out that the reason for this is because my previous policy was cancelled. I have a recording that can prove how blatant and disrespectful they are. Yes a company like theirs would have the muscle to squeeze me out. But we have a constitution that will fight for us.
