I took out a loan with Wonga in March and selected the 10th April as my debit order date. On the 10th April nothing was deducted. On the 12 April I called but they took too long to answer. I sent regular emails. Then on the 29th April i contacted tehm and advsied them about the situation. I was advised to send in a bank statement to show that I had fund in my account on the 10th April. I submitted same teh following Monday. Then I started receiving calls from a collection agency. At the end of May I received a call from Wonga asking me whetehr I was aware of the debit order system failure in April and May- I said no and then I was told that tehere was a debit order system failure and that is why the debit order was not deducted. I was advsied that due to the above, I would not have to pay the interest of approximately R 200.00 which had accured (not due to my negligence). I effected payment of the amount which was to be deducted on the 10th April. then today I receive a call from the collection company regarding the outstanding interest of approximately R 200.00. I have had my fair share of from wonga and I am at the point of going to the ombudsman.
